Luis Malanco (Mexico) provided images of an unexpected Liechtenstein – Mexico joint issue at the occasion of the 30th anniversary of their relationship. The stamps were released on July 3, 2024. Both countries issued a pair of identical se-tenant stamps showing mountains from both countries : Alpspitz (Liechtenstein, 1943m) and Mineral del Chico, Hidalgo (Mexico, 3200m). Unfortunately, beside the pictures, very limited information is available so far.

The stamps from Liechtenstein are “personalized” stamps. These can be recognized at the country name of only ‘Liechtenstein’. Issues from the official issue programs have the official country name ‘Fürstentum Liechtenstein’.

Thanks. Also, it seems that the total production batch was already sold. We try to find the explanations with the LIechtenstein Post, but for the time being and on the basis of what we learned so far, some information are still missing to confirm the true joint issue status. When more available, details will be posted.
